Matt & Maddie got married on a perfect Duluth summer morning on the Boat Club pier overlooking a glossy Lake Superior and the lift bridge. There were kayakers off in the distance, a swimming race that morning, and the lift bridge horn sounded right as they were pronounced husband and wife–making it an idyllic “Duluth” wedding.
My favorite parts of the day were seeing Maddie and her dad sharing special moments, the sunset pictures, and seeing the programs Maddie made for her wedding. Maddie made programs that looked like mini newspapers–and FELT like mini newspapers, maybe because they were!–that had a headline story about how they met, a highlights of Duluth section, and an obituary section. I asked her where she got them, and was so surprised when she told me she made them. She could definitely start a business making those–they were so beautiful and unique.
Bridal portraits are some of my favorite pictures to take of the entire day. I should start telling brides to schedule three hours for them, because I could definitely spend that entire time doing them.
Did you notice that Calvin & Hobbes painting on the tire cover of their Jeep? Maddie made that too. Amazing!
There were so many pictures I loved from Matt & Maddie’s first dance, but I didn’t want to spam you. So here are just a few of my favorites.
And just look at those pictures of Maddie with her dad. Definitely one of my favorites from the whole day.
That woman catching the bouquet is how I feel after I get my kids to bed every night.
But really, her reaction was amazing.
Matt & Maddie–thank you so much for welcoming me into your wedding day. It was truly an honor!
